Holiday service, longer event trains on Labor Day weekend

BART will be busy on Labor Day weekend, providing service during the holiday and getting tens of thousands of Bay Area residents to a number of much anticipated sports and musical events.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
BART will operate on a Sunday schedule on Labor Day, Monday, September 5th. Trains will operate at 20- minute intervals on three lines: Richmond to Fremont, Pittsburg/Bay Point to Millbrae and Dublin/Pleasanton to Daly City. Service will begin at 8 a.m.

LONGER TRAINS WILL ACCOMMODATE CROWDS
BART will operate longer trains to accommodate crowds attending weekend events, beginning with Friday's Oakland A's/N.Y. Yankees game. On Saturday, BART will again use longer trains for the A's crowd as well as for people heading to see the San Francisco Grand Prix Lifestyle and Bike Expo and to the Destiny's Child concert Saturday night at the Oakland Arena.

BART is poised to provide longer trains on Sunday too, when fans watch cyclists compete in the San Francisco Grand Prix and the A's wrap up their series against the Yankees.

On Monday, the A's begin a series against the Seattle Mariners and BART will operate longer trains until 6 p.m. to handle the baseball crowd.
