Changes in the Smart Parking program at the Rockridge BART station

Beginning Monday, October 3, there will be a charge for parking in the designated Smart Parking area at Rockridge Station. You will be able to ensure that you have a parking place when you need one with a $4.50 single-day advance reservation. You will also be able to make and hold reservations for three future dates. If you don't wish to make an advance reservation, additional Smart Parking spaces will be available on a first come - first serve basis for $1.00. Registration will be required. You must pay with a MasterCard or Visa credit card.

There are 50 parking spaces designated for Smart Parking. Here's how it works: sensors in a special section of the Rockridge parking lot keep track of how many cars park in the area. As soon as a new car enters or leaves the lot, the number of available spaces is updated on the Smart Parking phone system, web site and on two signs along Highway 24.
