BART adds longer trains for "KaBoom" fireworks show

Special event trains will provide service after the San Francisco waterfront spectacular

BART will operate longer trains this Saturday, May 12, to serve the estimated 40,000 people attending the KFOG "KaBoom" concert and fireworks show at Piers 30-32 (Embarcadero & Brannan, near AT&T Park) on the San Francisco waterfront. After the concert, additional trains will be kept on standby to help handle the crowds.

The event begins at 4 p.m., with the fireworks over the Bay scheduled for 9?9:30 p.m. Piers 30-32 are just a short walk from the Embarcadero BART Station. KFOG is strongly encouraging fans to use public transit.

This year's KaBoom is a ticketed event and the radio station recommends purchasing tickets in advance. To purchase tickets and for more information, visit kfog.com.

BART will sell flash passes good for trips to Embarcadero Station at the Dublin/Pleasanton Station from noon to 8:00 p.m. Saturday. Baseball fans can also purchase a flash pass to travel to the Coliseum/Oakland Airport Station for the A's game against the Cleveland Indians.

Riders can plan their trip using bart.gov's online QuickPlanner.
