Free parking at Rockridge Trader Joe's lot ends June 8

The additional parking near Rockridge Station made available by the Trader Joe's grocery store company will no longer be available to BART riders as of Friday, June 8.

BART riders using the lot will need to remove their cars by Friday, June 8 at 9 p.m.

Cars left in the lot after 9 p.m. on June 8 will be subject to towing.

BART and Trader Joe's cooperated to provide 90 additional parking spaces at 5727 College Avenue near Rockridge BART. Trader Joe's had been allowing BART customers to use their lot free of charge as the Bay Area worked around the collapse of a section of the MacArthur Maze.

The company is beginning to renovate the former Albertson's store and will need the lot for materials and equipment.
