Cracked rail repaired, BART service restored

BART has restored service along lines affected this morning by a cracked rail north of Lake Merritt Station, although there were residual delays as the system recovered from the disruption.

The incident began around 9:15 a.m. today and service was restored at 11:07 a.m.  Special shuttle trains were put in service to route passengers around the affected area while crews were working at the scene repairing the crack.
