BART wins 2009 Excellence in Digital Marketing Award

BART has been honored by the San Francisco chapter of the American Marketing Association with a 2009 "Excellence in Digital Marketing" Award. BART won the award for its use of "digital distribution channels to reach consumers in a timely, relevant, personal and cost-effective manner." The other finalist in the Digital Marketing category was interactive marketing agency Razorfish.

BART was recognized for its digital, interactive, and open communications with public transit riders. The District now shares schedule data with web developers, blogs, and connects in real time with customers on Twitter. BART's digital distribution channels include:
