Temporary bike locker relocation at West Oakland effective Oct. 12

On Monday, October 12, 2009, we will close bike lockers and racks at West Oakland Station for one day to allow crews to move them to a temporary relocation area located in the Permit Parking lot west of the station.

This one-day bike locker closure is part of our Earthquake Safety Program work to strengthen structures at the West Oakland Station to withstand future earthquakes. The work requires that we temporarily relocate of some of the keyed and electronic bicycle lockers and bicycle racks until the Earthquake Safety Program construction here is done, which we expect to finish in about six months.

Keyed Bicycle Lockers and Bicycle Racks
On Monday, October 12th we will remove and impound contents left inside the keyed lockers or attached to the racks. We will reopen racks and keyed lockers for your use the following day, Tuesday, October 13th.

Electronic Bicycle Lockers
Lockers will remain in service during the move and BikeLink technicians will relocate locker contents along with the lockers. If you do not want your bicycle moved, please do not park in these lockers on October 12th. For questions on the electronic bicycle lockers, please call BikeLink at 1-888-540-0546. We will return the bicycle lockers and racks to their original locations after construction in the area is complete. Please watch for notices regarding future updates and signs with safety information.
