Bus stop relocation for utility constuction at Richmond Station

Starting October 6 and continuing for approximately four weeks, bus stops will be relocated to accommodate the installation of underground utilities in the bus intermodal area. All bus lines will still be available; however, AC Transit will be combining both directions of each line at the same stop (please see the map on the back of this bulletin). This work is being done as part of the construction of the new parking structure.

The construction will also require pedestrian route detours as follows:

  • When the crosswalk from the intermodal island is closed due to construction, you will use a temporary crosswalk at the end of the island to access the sidewalk to the station.
  • When the utility construction crosses the sidewalk from Macdonald Avenue to the Station, there will be another detour using the temporary crosswalk at the end of the island.
  • Please watch for and observe temporary pedestrian detour signs during the utility construction.
  • map of the pedestrian route detours is also available.

The Richmond Station parking structure is being constructed by the Richmond Community Redevelopment Agency as part of their transit village project. When completed in early 2012, the parking structure will provide 769 parking spaces to replace parking spaces on the east side of the BART Station where the second phase of the Richmond transit village will be constructed.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and ask that you observe local parking regulations in the neighborhoods surrounding the BART Station.
