More Clipper news: Reminder that Clipper cards take cash

Clipper cards take cash!  You can add value to your Clipper card with cash at a BART ticket vending machine, transit agency ticket offices or Clipper retail locations like Walgreens.

Clipper cards are safer than carrying cash because if you have registered your card online at www.clippercard.com, and you lose the card and report it missing, we'll replace it and refund your card balance, less a $5.00 fee.  Even if you only have a few dollars, you can load that onto your Clipper card and use it to travel on BART, Muni, AC Transit and all the other Bay Area transit systems that accept Clipper (just make sure you have enough cash for the trip you are taking). Instead of buying a ticket every day, you can load $10 or $20 at a time on your Clipper card. No worries about having "tiny tickets" leftover after you travel--just add more cash when you need it. Pick up a Clipper card today and give it a try! Remember, when using a BART Ticket Vending Machine to add cash value, you need to tag your card, decide how much cash to add and then tag your card again to make sure the cash value gets loaded on your card and the transaction is complete.

Find a schedule of Clipper outreach events where you can get a card and learn how to use it.
