Delays at MacArthur for track work continue to first week of March

THIS ARTICLE HAS BEEN MODIFIED

2/25 update: The track work has been extending to the first week of March. Work will continue on Monday, March 3 and Tuesday, March 4. Delays may be as long as 25 minutes. We appreciate your patience.

We are doing preventative track maintenance near MacArthur Station after morning commute hours which may cause delays up to 10 to 15 minutes. We are replacing key components of our aging track system; when this work is in progress only one of the two tracks may be available. Cross-platform transfers at MacArthur will not be made during these times. To transfer, exit your train and wait for the transfer train which will follow on the same track.

We make every effort to schedule this important work at times outside of regular commute hours in order to minimize disruption to customers’ schedules. Unfortunately, because of its complexity, this work cannot be done in the narrow time window when there is no service.

You may notice trains travelling slower than in the past. This is to ensure safety when we have workers near tracks. We realize that this change may slightly lengthen the delays you experience. We appreciate your patience as we work to keep providing you with the high level of service you rely upon.
