Parking changes at San Leandro Station

Construction on Phase I of San Leandro Family Apartments and parking garage is scheduled to begin in early December, 2014. Construction will close the existing BART parking lot on the east side of San Leandro Boulevard and West Juana Ave. The main BART lot will remain open. The new development will be replacing the east side lot with 115 affordable apartments and a new underground parking garage, with 246 spaces for BART customers. Completion is planned for spring 2016. We are sending notices now to ensure everyone is properly informed and has ample time to adapt and respond accordingly.

BART customers driving to the San Leandro BART station are asked to take note of alternative parking and transportation options. Customers are encouraged to use other means to reach the station rather than driving, such as free shuttles, AC Transit buses and biking. For reference, additional public parking lots and spaces in the area have been marked on the attached map. Details about temporary BART replacement parking can also be found at: www.slparkingpermits.org or by calling 510-577-3440.

Additional questions regarding the project can be directed to BRIDGE Housing at 510-671-0020. We appreciate your patience throughout this process and apologize for the inconvenience. We will continue to issue additional bulletins regarding construction improvements and scheduling once the opening date is finalized.
