Escalators out at Embarcadero, Civic Center/UN Plaza and other stations--Update

There are platform-level escalators out at Millbrae, Lake Merritt, Embarcadero, Balboa Park, Dublin Pleasanton, San Bruno, Castro Valley, South San Francisco and Daly City stations. Most are recent outages and cause of outage and estimated repair-by dates are not yet available. Additional problems were found with the Lake Merritt escalator and it is now expected to return to service 12/13. The Balboa Park escalator needs a new "encoder board" which is on order. It is projected to return to service 12/16.

There are street-level escalators out at Civic Center/UN Plaza, Embarcadero, Powell St., 12th Street, and 16th Street stations. Most are recent outages and cause of outage and estimated repair-by dates are not yet available. The Embarcadero escalator that has been out since 11/25 is projected to return to service 12/16. There is a mechanical problem with the motor. The Civic Center/UN Plaza escalator that went out of service 11/25 is projected to return to service 12/24. The balustrade panels are being rebuilt. The other street-level escalator at Civic Center that went out of service 12/6 is experiencing an electrical problem and is projected to return to service 12/19.

When we have more information on the other out of service escalators and return to service dates, we will update this notice.
