15-20 min delays 3 weekend days in March 3/11-12 & 19

UPDATE: Saturday 3/11 work is cancelled.

On Saturday, March 11, 2017 between 7am and 12 noon, we will run a special flatbed train car equipped with a LIDAR (light detection and ranging) scanning device to create maps of our trackway between Hayward and the new Warm Springs Station. This will cause 15 to 20 minute delays and may require some passengers to transfer at South Hayward because of single-tracking.

On Sunday, March 12 (between 7:30am and 3:30pm) we will scan between West Oakland and Richmond/Walnut Creek, and Sunday, March 19 (between 7:30 am and 1:00pm) we will scan between Glen Park and SFO/Millbrae. This will cause 15-20 minute delays system-wide because of single-tracking.

The scanning equipment requires daylight in order to capture panoramic imagery, which is why this work cannot be accomplished during normal overnight hours when trains aren’t running.  When completed our Maintenance and Engineering teams will have highly accurate maps of our system.

We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause you and appreciate your patience while we perform this important work.
