Temporary parking changes at Daly City Station June 2017
Starting Saturday, 3 June, 2017, we will begin work reconstructing the upper-level parking lot next to John Daly Blvd/Delong Street at our Daly City Station (click here for map).
The project will include a redesign and paving of the Delong Parking lot (upper BART surface lot) that will include a new bus layover area for MUNI and SamTrans buses. Other improvements will include demolition of the existing bus canopy currently covering the intermodal bus area, as well as installation of new bus shelters, LED lighting, seating, railings and sidewalks.
Construction work will begin on Saturday, June 3. On Friday, June 2 following revenue service, the contractor will cordon off the upper-level parking lot next to John Daly Boulevard and Delong Street. The lot will be closed for construction from June 3–4, and again from June 9–12 for construction of a new bus layover area as well as re-paving and re-striping of the entire lot. During these work periods, the entire lot will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Work will take place from 7am to 7pm throughout the two weekends. No night work is anticipated on this project.
The second phase of work includes replacing sections of sidewalk at various locations throughout the station to provide a safer path of travel to and within the station. This work will take place from 7am to 7pm during weekdays in June and July upon completion of the Delong parking lot work. A safe path of travel will be delineated to ensure no pedestrians enter the construction areas.
The final phase of work will take place at the intermodal bus area later in July 2017. The contractor will be fabricating new shelters off-site. When the shelters are ready for installation the contractor will return to complete installation along with construction of new sidewalks, railings, curbs and islands, lighting and seating in the bus intermodal area.
The Carpool parking section will be moved temporarily to the small lot off of Delong St. and Hillcrest Drive after construction it will move back to its original location.
Midday parkers will be able to park in any open space in reserved sections of the garage after 10am.
Please look for signs and barricades around work areas. Follow instructions of employees and construction crews.
We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we make improvements to this station.
