Second weekend closure of Warm Springs Station to be scheduled

June 12, 2017: We will need to close the Warm Springs Station for this work on one more weekend, however that date is still to be determined. We will issue a new bulletin and update this article when a date is chosen.

Sunday June 4th 10:30am update: this work is now complete and we have reopened the station. Normal  service at Warm Springs

In order to prepare to open the BART to Silicon Valley Extension, we will be closing the Warm Springs/South Fremont Station for two non-consecutive weekends this summer—June 3-4 and another weekend to be determined. We will operate a free bus from the closed station to our Fremont Station which will run every 15-20 minutes between the two stations. Expect the closure to add 20-30 minutes to your trip.

This is critical work that involves the installation of new software and then testing of the software in preparation for the Silicon Valley Extension project with the Valley Transportation Authority. Once completed, this will allow us to finalize the connection between Warm Springs/South Fremont Station and the Silicon Valley Extension. We will be running test trains on the track which is why we cannot run passenger trains safely at the same time. Once this work is completed, we will be ready for the new service.
