Celebrate SF Pride 2017 and take BART to the Parade

Best times to take BART to Pride

On Sunday, June 25, BART will increase the amount and length of trains to imitate Saturday service and weekday commute-length trains. We will open at 8am.

Passengers headed to the festivities are encouraged to use BART’s mobile website (http://m.bart.gov) for Real Time Departures and other service related information. The service will not match our published schedules because of the additions. To avoid long lines at ticket machines, purchase a round-trip ticket beforehand or use a pre-loaded Clipper card.

Staff will have tables set up to sell Clipper Cards at the following stations:

  • Downtown Berkeley
  • Dublin/Pleasanton
  • Daly City
  • Millbrae
  • West Oakland

This year marks the 47th annual San Francisco Pride Celebration, to be held over the weekend and culminating in Sunday’s parade. With an incredible number of participants each year, the San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration and Parade is the largest annual gathering of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender people and allies in the nation.

San Francisco Pride has come to symbolize several things: the long history of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer dignity, the freedom of all people to meaningfully and proudly express their sexual and gender identities, and the commitment of LGBT people to combating oppression.

The two-day celebration is free and open to all, and we encourage everyone to take part in this historic event—be  on the lookout for the BARTmobile!  For parade route information and additional details, please click here.

BARTmobile at SF PrideAs with any large event, BART Police rely on passengers to report suspicious or illegal activity happening on trains or in stations.  Be on the lookout for abandoned packages, suspicious behavior, or unattended vehicles; let a nearby station agent or police officer know if you encounter these things while riding. Download the BART Watch app from the App Store or Google Play.  Additional officers will be on patrol during SF Pride weekend, but passengers must still remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings at all times. Remember the important advice: If you see something, say something!

BART wishes everyone attending a safe and happy weekend, and celebrates our region’s diversity alongside riders.
