BPD seeks vandalism suspect who drew offensive images on BART property

The BART Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find a suspect who was seen on video earlier this week writing on the floor at the Embarcadero Station.   He has drawn several swastikas and written racial slurs on BART property.

Upon getting the initial report of the offensive image we immediately sent a maintenance crew to clean it up and BPD pulled platform video.

Due to the nature of the images and the verbiage used, investigators believe the same person is responsible for multiple cases of offensive vandalism in the BART system this week.  Such vandalism has been reported at the San Leandro, Glen Park, and MacArthur Stations.

This offensive vandalism will not be tolerated by BART.  Whenever it is reported we will respond immediately to clean it up and BART intends to pursue criminal charges.  Most importantly, we want to provide a safe environment for our riders.  That’s why we’re providing these images of the suspect to the public.

Anyone with information on the suspect should contact BART police at 510-464-7040 or to remain anonymous call 510-464-7011.  Also, anyone who sees a crime in progress can call BART police at 510-410-7000 or use the BART Watch app.
