Come join BPD's Annual Night Out on Aug. 6

On Tuesday, August 6, 2019, the BART Police Department will be hosting its 10th Annual National Night Out at five stations around the District.

National Night Out is a unique opportunity for law enforcement and the community to celebrate and promote safer communities through collaborative partnerships. Events will be hosted at the Fruitvale, Richmond, Castro Valley, 16th Mission, and Balboa Park stations from 4pm-7pm during the evening commute.

National Night Out is a family-friendly event geared towards educating our ridership about public safety, to heighten crime prevention awareness, encourage support and participation in anti-crime programs, and to strengthen community and law enforcement partnerships. National Night Out also enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, boosts a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

In past National Night Out events, BART PD held various giveaways, such as bike pant-straps and pens with flashlights, and prizes including Oakland A’s tickets, gift baskets and bike locks. Food and a space to dance were also provided at the events.
