Lafayette Station elevator out of service through July 31, 2021

The Lafayette Station elevator is expected to be out of service for approximately 14 weeks pending replacement of its hydraulic ram. The contractor expects it will take 8 to 10 weeks to procure the replacement parts and another 4 weeks for installation. It’s estimated the elevator will be back in service by July 31, 2021.

While the elevator is out of service, customers can take the County Connection #6 bus between the Lafayette and Orinda stations, or request an elevator mitigation trip from the station agent, who will arrange for an accessible van to take the passenger to the adjacent station.  Passengers may also book an elevator mitigation trip in advance by sending an email to [email protected].

We realize that this will be inconvenient for you and appreciate your patience during this important maintenance work.
