Link21 Seeks Community Members for Newly Formed Equity Advisory Council

The Link21 Program, sponsored by the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) and Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA), is seeking members to serve on its newly formed Equity Advisory Council (EAC). Link21 is working with the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA) and other transportation partners to transform Northern California's passenger rail network into a faster, more integrated system that provides safe, efficient, equitable, and affordable travel for everyone. At the core of Link21 is a new transbay passenger rail crossing between Oakland and San Francisco.

The EAC will help shape the Program’s planning of passenger rail improvements in the Northern California Megaregion.  The EAC will provide a space for meaningful community collaboration to advance equity throughout the Program’s development and implementation.

The EAC will consist of up to 20 members representing diverse geographies and demographics. Link21 is seeking individuals who bring lived or professional familiarity in technical and/or policy areas such as passenger rail transportation and land use, housing, environmental, environmental justice, transit equity, and economic development.  EAC membership will reflect the diversity of the Megaregion, including low-income communities and communities of color that have been most impacted by transportation inequities, youth, and other communities that have historically been underserved.

Meetings will be held virtually via videoconferencing every other month starting in October 2022. Committee members can serve up to a two-year term and will be compensated for their service on the EAC.

If you are interested in serving on the EAC, please submit your application by Friday, August 26, 2022. Applications can be submitted in the following ways:
