Walnut Creek Station: Pedestrian pathway temporarily closed for improvements

Beginning Wednesday, August 24th, the pedestrian pathway between the BART station entrance and the intersection of Ygnacio Valley Rd and N. California Blvd will be closed for approximately 3 weeks. During this time, benches and old bus shelters will be removed to provide a wider and safer pedestrian walkway. During this closure, pedestrians may use the following detours (also shown in map):

  • When exiting the faregates, turn right and walk along the pedestrian path towards the Passenger Loading Zone. Turn right and pass under the tracks. Turn left at the crosswalk and follow the sidewalk to N. California Blvd. Turn right on N. California Blvd.
  • When exiting the faregates, turn left as if using then closed pedestrian pathway. Then turn right, using the sidewalk along the construction fence to Ygnacio Valley Road. Cross the street at the closed BART driveway and turn left on Ygnacio Valley Road.

Thank you for your patience as we work to improve access to the BART Station.
