16th St. Mission Station elevator out of service November 14 to December 16, 2022

UPDATE: December 13, 2022

The street level elevator is now back in service.

UPDATE: November 23, 2022

The street level elevator is now expected to be back in service on December 16th due to delays involving a third party. Crews are working seven days a week on this project to get this unit up and running with some nice upgrades and reliability.

We will replace the doors on the street level elevator at 16th St. Mission Station as part of a project to increase the reliability of older elevators in the system. The work will begin on Monday, November 14, 2022, and continue to approximately Friday, December 2, 2022.

This is the only street to concourse level elevator at 16th St. Mission Station. The platform to concourse level elevator will remain in service.

If you must use an elevator to access our stations, we recommend you use 24th St. Mission Station instead and continue to your destination from there. Please check SF Muni bus service for additional options at www.SFMTA.com

To check if an elevator is in service before arriving at a station, please call 510-834-LIFT (510-834-5438)

or 888-2-ELEVAT (888-235-3828) or sign up for elevator status alerts at www.bart.gov/elevators.

If you arrive at any station and find that the elevator(s) are out of service, you may contact a Station Agent to arrange for a lift van to take you to a nearby station with a working elevator.

We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
