New BikeLink mobile app allows riders to park their bikes more easily

BART riders who travel by bicycle to and from BART stations can now more easily park their bicycles at BART's highly secure on-demand electronic lockers using the new BikeLink mobile app.

The new BikeLink app now can be used instead of a pre-paid BikeLink card to access and pay for eLockers available at 40 BART stations with over 1800 spaces of secure bike parking spaces.

The new BikeLink app is available on both iOS and Android. New users can start with only $5 on their BikeLink account, whereas the minimum for the BikeLink card is $20.

In just a few minutes, customers who wish to use the their phones can simply download the BikeLink app and create an account, ride up to an available eLocker, launch the app, and follow on-screen instructions to put time on the meter and open the door to park their bike inside.

BikeLink cards will continue to work with BART’s eLockers, and existing BikeLink card users who choose to use the app can also continue to use their cards, but note that the BikeLink card balance and app account balance are NOT connected.

BikeLink app access to BART's bike stations -- available at Ashby, Berryessa, Civic Center, Downtown Berkeley, Embarcadero, MacArthur, Milpitas and Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre stations -- will be rolled out early 2023.
