Elevator Outage Options and Accessible Path for Hayward Station

Elevator Outage Options

IF PLATFORM 1 (BERRYESSA/NORTH SAN JOSÉ) ELEVATOR IS OUT OF SERVICE AND RIDER IS:

  • ARRIVING FROM THE STREET (rider cannot access trains)
    • Rider should backtrack to Bay Fair. Use Platform 2 elevator.
    • Alternative Option: Rider can take AC Transit to another BART station. The closet station is South Hayward.
    • If the Platform 2 elevator is also out of service, rider could take AC Transit to another station or request a Mitigation Trip.

 

  • ARRIVING FROM THE PLATFORM (rider cannot exit platform)
    • Rider should continue on BART to South Hayward, then backtrack to Hayward on next train. Use Platform 2 elevator.
    • Alternative Option: Rider can continue on BART to another station and take AC Transit to destination. The closest station is South Hayward.
    • If the Platform 2 elevator is also out of service, rider could take AC Transit from another station or request a Mitigation Trip.

IF PLATFORM 2 (RICHMOND, DALY CITY) IS OUT OF SERVICE AND RIDER IS:

  • ARRIVING FROM THE STREET (rider cannot access trains)
    • Rider should backtrack to South Hayward. Use Platform 1 elevator.
    • Alternative Option: Rider can take AC Transit to another BART station. The closet station is South Hayward.
    • If the Platform 1 elevator is also out of service, rider could take AC Transit to another station or request a Mitigation Trip.

 

  • ARRIVING FROM THE PLATFORM (rider cannot exit platform)
    • Rider should continue on BART to Bay Fair, then backtrack to Hayward on next train. Use Platform 1 elevator.
    • Alternative Option: Rider can continue on BART to another station and take AC Transit to destination. The closest station is South Hayward.
    • If the Platform 1 elevator is also out of service, rider could take AC Transit from another station or request a Mitigation Trip.

Entering Hayward Station

Check the status of out of service elevators ELEVATOR ALERTS

The train platforms at the Hayward Station are located on a raised platform. Concourse in on the street level.

There are two separate elevators for either Berryessa/North San José bound trains or San Francisco, Richmond bound trains. Both separate elevators doors open inside the paid area. Press “P” for train platform level.

At the train platform level, from either elevator, you will be approximately at the center of the boarding area.

Exiting Hayward Station

The train platforms at the Hayward Station are on located on a raised platform.

There are two separate elevators for either Berryessa/North San José bound trains or San Francisco, Richmond bound trains are located approximately at the center of the train platform. Press “S” for street level.

When exiting from either the elevator, you will be inside the paid area.
