Elevator Outage Options

IF PLATFORM ELEVATORS ARE OUT OF SERVICE AND RIDER IS:

  • ARRIVING FROM THE STREET (rider cannot access trains)
    • Rider should take the other platform elevator.
    • If the alternate elevator is out of service: Rider should ride the AirTrain to the International Terminal G stop, take the elevator in the terminal to the Departures level, and follow signs to the BART station entrance.
  • ARRIVING FROM THE PLATFORM (rider cannot exit platform)
    • Rider should take the other platform elevator.
    • If the alternate elevator is out of service: If rider needs to travel to a terminal other than International Terminal G, rider should exit the BART fare gates, enter International Terminal G, and take the elevator to the AirTrain level. If rider is going to International Terminal G, they do not need to use an elevator to enter the terminal.

The train platforms at San Francisco International Airport Station are located on the street level.

Take San Francisco International Airport (SFO) bound train to International Terminal at San Francisco Airport.

If going to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) from another city on BART, it may be necessary to transfer to the SFO bound train. Check the BART System Map for information.

When exiting the train platform on the street level, head towards to San Francisco International Terminal where the paid area is located.

EXITING SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT STATION

The train platforms at San Francisco International Airport Station are located on the street level.

From the baggage claim area, follow the signs to BART.

You can take either red line or the blue line Air Train. The red line is marked for BART. The red line will get you there more quickly than the blue line will.  Air Train will stop outside the paid area of BART.

Take the elevator located inside the paid area down to the street level where the BART train platforms are located.

When exiting the train, you will be outside of the San Francisco International Terminal on the street level.

Take BART to your destination.
