West Oakland TOD - Parking Updates

Reserved parking ends May 1, 2026, in preparation for the upcoming Transit Oriented Development (TOD) project. The spaces will be converted to first-come, first-served, Daily Fee parking.

The TOD project, also known as Mandela Station, will include 762 new residential units, including 240 affordable units, retail and office space, a new bike station, improved bikeways, streetscape improvements, enhanced walking access to the station, and a new BART plaza. Construction is scheduled to start as soon as July 2026, when approximately 300 out of 440 spaces will become unavailable. The remaining 140 Daily Fee spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. More information here.

The parking lot by Willow and Richmond St has been closed as of November 17, 2025. See map below. More information here.
