19th Street Station Oakland: partial entrance closure

On Tuesday, August 4 and Wednesday, August 5, the City of Oakland will complete the installation of the glass artwork at the 17th Street Gateway entrance to the 19th Street BART Station. This is the station’s southwesterly most station entrance that provides direct access to both Broadway and Telegraph Avenue between 17th and 19th Streets. This final phase of construction will include the installation of glass panels along the walkway adjacent to their recently installed artwork. Barring unforeseen complications, the project will be completed on August 5.

This entrance from Telegraph Ave. will be closed from August 4, 2015 until August 5, 2015. There will be no access to and from the BART Station from Telegraph Ave. during this time. You will be able to access the stairs and escalator from the Broadway side while the work is being done.

This will conclude the work on this entrance. Copies of current and prior bulletins, as well as additional information regarding the project can be obtained by contacting the City of Oakland at (510) 238-2299.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Here is a .pdf with a map of the work area.
