Modernization work at El Cerrito del Norte Sun 12/20 and Mon 12/21

12/21/20 Update: There will not be overnight work that will result in late night noise from Monday December 21-23. This work will take place at a later date possibly during day time hours.

BART and contractor crews are continuing their Station Modernization project at the El Cerrito del Norte Station.

On Sunday December 20, 2020, after BART closes for service, crews will be working on tying in a new fire pump as part of the station's upgraded and improved fire/life safety infrastructure.  Our contractor doesn’t anticipate any noise or visual impacts to the surrounding neighborhood because the system will be in bypass-mode, but there will be activity taking place during the overnight hours into early Monday morning.

On Monday, December 21, 2020, during daytime hours, crews will conduct fire alarm system testing. This testing might trigger some false alarms within the station. This will be during daytime hours.

Looking ahead, crews will soon have work involving pavement trenching and minor electrical work in front of the existing Station Agent booth. This work may create noise to the surrounding area. This work has not yet been finalized, and we will provide updates about the schedule once confirmed.
