Concourse and platform work at Powell St. Station to prepare for canopy installation starts 6/7

Starting on Monday, June 7th, our contractor will begin the first phase of construction to prepare for the installation of new canopies over our street-level escalators at Powell Street Station. They will install and integrate new and existing communication and information systems including networking infrastructure for cameras, displays and escalator remote monitoring.

The contractor will also install new conduit, electrical, and communication equipment to support the future work.

The work area will extend the length of the Concourse-level of Powell Station and also include some service rooms, and the Muni platform-level. Temporary barricades may need to be erected for safety, but pathways through the station will remain open and meet ADA requirements.

Work will occur during service hours or after hours depending if the work is in public areas or within electrical/train control rooms. We anticipate that this work will last for approximately 3 months.

Thank you for your patience as we complete this important work.
