BART will run Saturday service for Thanksgiving 2021

BART will run Saturday service for Thanksgiving 2021

BART will run a Saturday service schedule for Thanksgiving 2021 to provide enhanced holiday service for those who rely on or chose to take transit. This means on Thursday, November 25, 2021, BART hours will be 6am-Midnight with all five lines running until 9pm, and three lines running from 9pm-midnight.

Friday, November 26, 2021, will have a normal weekday service (5am-midnight).

BART will also run a Saturday service on Christmas Day, December 25, 2021, and New Year’s Day, January 1, 2022. BART will run special fireworks service for New Year’s Eve with the last East Bay bound train running through Downtown San Francisco at around 1:30am and the last Southbound train heading toward Millbrae running through Downtown San Francisco at 2:10am.

Typically, BART runs Sunday service (currently 8am-9pm) on holidays no matter what day of the week they land on, but as we work to regain ridership and continue to serve the region during the pandemic, we wanted to ensure riders had early morning options and a ride home after evening festivities.

The schedule has been loaded into our Trip Planning tools.

Parking Holiday

Thanksgiving is a parking holiday. Parking will be free at all stations except for Milpitas and Berryessa/North San Jose operated by the Valley Transportation Authority.

All other parking rules will be enforced.

The day after Thanksgiving, Friday November 26, is not a parking holiday. Those who need to park can purchase the daily fee through the official BART app or make a cash payment at the station. There is no credit card option at the station. Download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and pay within the app using a credit card, debit card, Venmo, or PayPal.

Follow this guide to purchase long-term parking (now known as single/multi-day parking) on the official BART app.  You can reserve multiple days of parking in advance and leave your vehicle overnight.

For those travelling during the holidays and taking BART to the airport, you can purchase multi-day parking in advance through the BART official app.
