BART’s Wireless Technology Program will bring seamless Wi-Fi coverage in all stations and onboard BART trains. The program is set to begin installing new equipment along the BART trackway in April 2024.
Neighborhood Impacts
For safety reasons, most of the installation work will need to occur overnight between the time the BART system closes and when it reopens.
Neighbors may hear the use of a drill rig, small crane, backhoe, and construction trucks at the site. Generators may also be required to provide lighting.
BART will send neighbors near installation sites a postcard prior to the start of work with additional details.
Installation Locations & Schedule
Construction will occur inside BART’s trackway at various locations systemwide. Once construction begins, each site will take approximately two weeks to complete.
