Entrance Closure Alert: Embarcadero Station entrance at Market and Pine to close March 14

The Embarcadero Station entrance at Market and Pine streets will close beginning Thursday, March 14th but four other entrances will remain available.

This Market/Pine entrance  will be closed off to public access for approximately eight months while a new protective canopy is built. This canopy and others along Market Street will not only protect new escalators being installed from the wear-and-tear of elements like rain and wind-swept debris, but they will provide an added layer of station security and cleanliness through motorized gates that allow the entrances to be locked at street level when stations are closed.

Each canopy includes a real-time digital display that shows train arrival times, a retractable gate, LED lighting, security cameras and art elements.

Meantime, the entrance across the street at Market and Beale will reopen following completion of a new canopy. In addition, riders will still be able to use the Market and Davis street entrance as well as three other entrances at the station.
