Take BART to the 2024 Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco
San Francisco’s Chinese New Year Parade happens Saturday, February 24, 2024,. It is the largest illuminated night parade in the country!
Montgomery Station is the closest BART station to the start of the parade at Market and 2nd Streets that begins at 5 p.m. Embarcadero and Powell stations are also near the parade route.

Avoid Lines at Vending Machines and Put Clipper on Your Phone
Getting a Clipper card on your cellphone or Apple Watch before you head to the parade will save you time and money.
Before you leave home, put a digital Clipper card in your phone’s (or Apple Watch’s) digital wallet through either Apple Pay or Google Pay and load funds for immediate use (check the round trip fare for your trip). Every rider 5 years and older needs their own Clipper card - families can’t share a card. Do not use the Clipper app for this. Taking these steps before you arrive at BART will save you time (and the $3 plastic card fee) as lines for the vending machines may be long.
BART is recruiting for its Business Advisory Council (apply by 7/5/24)
BART is seeking new members for its Business Advisory Council (BAC) for the next term (2024 to 2026).
The BAC was established in 2010 to encourage communications between the District and the small business community and to advise the District in its efforts to ensure that small businesses are afforded equal opportunities to participate on District contracts and agreements. Small businesses include Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, Disadvantage Veteran Business Enterprises, Minority-Owned Business Enterprises, Women-Owned Business Enterprises and Micro Small Business Entities.
The BAC currently consists of 14 members representing the small business community covering geographical areas of the District’s service area as well as representation from the following industries: professional services, architecture and engineering, procurement and construction.
Committee members serve a two-year period, on staggered terms. Meetings are typically held once every other month from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in-person at BART Headquarters in Oakland with the option to join virtually (via Zoom).
Members are involved in providing valuable feedback on District contracting, services and procurement policies, programs and practices.
If you are interested in serving on the BAC, please submit an application, a letter of recommendation from your organization, as well as a cover letter describing your interest by end of day 7/05/24.

September 23: Ride BART on All Aboard Transit Day and win prizes
Tuesday, September 23, is All Aboard Transit Day, when transit agencies encourage people to hop onboard their systems to experience their recent service and customer experience improvements.
On the morning of All Aboard Transit Day, BART staff will be stationed throughout the system to hand out special stickers to riders. If staff see you wearing the sticker later in the day, they'll gift you some BART swag (while supplies last).
All Aboard Transit Day is being held on a Tuesday because this day of the week has seen high transit ridership in the Bay Area, as well as significant traffic on freeways, bridges, and roadways. The day is a great excuse to take BART and other local agencies or perhaps to try transit for the first time.
All Aboard Transit Day is part of the Bay Area’s annual Transit Month, a celebration of regional transportation hosted by San Francisco Transit Riders and Seamless Bay Area with support from local agencies. Transit Month toasts the many trains, buses, and ferries that connect the region and uplift its communities, economies, and cultures and is a great opportunity to explore the places transit can take you and to connect with local agencies and riders.
The month is hallmarked by dozens of free events as well as a monthlong Ride Contest that invites participants to track their transit trips to win prizes, earn badges, and vie for top leaderboard positions. Sign up at ridecontest.com.
