The Roadway Safety Data Dashboard provides an interactive map and comparative statistics of killed and severe injury (KSI) crashes on public roadways up to two miles away that riders may use to get to and from BART stations. Its purpose is to provide data that enable cities, counties, towns, countywide transportation authorities, and Caltrans to identify crash patterns and implement safety investments on roadways under their authority, particularly if they are found on the High Injury Network (HIN). It summarizes KSI crashes over a five-year period from 2019 to 2023 using data from UC Berkeley's Transportation Injury Mapping System. You may zoom into the map to view Station Study Areas in more detail and click on data points to get information about the transportation modes involved in these KSI crashes. The bar chart below summarizes data for the entire network by mode involved and year.
Please be patient as it may take a few minutes for the interactive map to load.
